How Did the Korean War Effect America?
The Korean war affected America in many ways. Although the Korean was not well known ( known as the forgotten war), it really impacted the world today.
The Forgotten War
Not a lot of people considered the Korean War as an actual war, because neither country actually declared war on each other In the soldiers' point of view, they did consider it a war because it was just as aggressive and violent as any other war was. It was called the Forgotten War because it was a smaller war tucked between two very big wars, World War Two, and the Vietnam War. World War Two was a very difficult war to go through, and the Vietnam War was the longest war that America has gone through. With those two big wars on both sides of the Korean War, the Korean War was forgotten, and all of the attention was turned towards the two bigger wars.
How It Effected America
The Korean War effected America in many ways. It also effected North and South Korea a lot too. Since North Korea and America both had nuclear weapons, it helped us better determine if it is ever necessary to use them against other countries. Fortunately, no one used nuclear weapons against each other On June 31st, America sent their troops to Korea to assist South Korea. Unfortunately for the soldiers, they could not seem to get a break from battle since there were three simultaneous wars in that time period. Although the war did not effect America as much as it did to Korea, it still put an impact on it. In Korea, it damaged their economies, and also caused there to be tension between North and South Korea. Fortunately for America and Japan, the Korean War improved both countries' economy. The Korean War effected us in good and bad ways, but mostly good. It was very fortunate for us to have positive things come out of the war.
